In January-February 1991 I created a complex and popular Type 1 PostScript font which contained over 100 quite detailed picture images from public domain sources and modestly called it DavysDingbats, after myself. It works great on my computer with ATM (I have 4 megs) and on my NEC printer (3 megs). Other users contacted me with problems they've had printing from the font and with ATM. In both cases the problems seemed to be with memory; the problem characters had lots and lots of Bezier control points (Fontographer calls them BCP's, as if you cared), and the printers cited had only 1.5 or 2 megs of RAM. As a way to work around these problems, I've split the font up into four fonts, keeping the original keyboard positions of the characters: hence, in this archive you will find:
DavysDingbatsRegular -- the 47 keys of the regular keyboard - no shift or option. Find line separators, some flowers and random pictures here.
DavysDingbatsShift -- the 47 keys of the regular keyboard with the shift key depressed. Find moons, rose corners, the scream, and other pictures here.
DavysDingbatsOption -- 41 of the keys of the regular keyboard with the option key depressed -- the "dead" keys `, e, u, i, o, and n are not filled with new characters. Find theatergoers, ballerinas, cats and other animals here.
DavysDingbatsShiftOption -- 37 of the keys of the shift-option keyboard filled with Art Nouveau printer ornaments. The non-numeric and non-alphabetic characters are not filled.
In April 1991 these fonts were converted to TrueType™ format with FontMonger from Ares Software (a truly wonderful program, and so inexpensive). The original conditions apply:

Commercial shareware distributors and any for-profit organizations are strictly prohibited from distributing or selling these fonts in any way, shape or form.
DavysDingbats come to you from Insect Bytes, a place that refers to itself as a concept, in central New England, where it's hard to tell the cats from the crickets.
